Merry Christmas Eve, everyone. :) I know that for a lot of you who are reading this, it isn’t Christmas Eve anymore. But Christmas Eve is my favorite holiday. It’s not so much about the presents, but about the gift of Christ, His birth, and the opportunity we have to live with Him again.

The pictures above are pictures that I took while in Israel this summer. The first picture was taken in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, in the grotto where Christ was supposedly born. Whether or not it was the exactly place of Christ’s birth is debatable, but it is still a sacred place to me because of what it represents. The second photo is a picture of the Shepherd’s Fields, where the shepherds would have been told by the angels about Christ’s birth.

The miracle of Christ’s birth is the miracle that led to Christ’s life, and therefore the Atonement, His death, and the Resurrection. I know that Christ lived and that He lives again, and I know that because of the miracle of His birth, we can live with Him again. I am grateful for my knowledge of Christ, of the relationship that I have with Him, and for the opportunity to repent when I make a mistake. I know that He is there for me for all that I go through, and I know that He forgives me of my mistakes. I am grateful for Him and for His life, and for the fact that He was born so that we can live with Him again. Merry Christmas, everyone. :)

[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

“O Holy Night,” performed by Anúna. This came up on my Pandora and I’m glad it did. Music like this makes a long night of working on a project significantly better.

First Presidency Christmas Devotional

A much-needed holiday lift. Additionally, the song that The Mormon Tabernacle Choir just sang (The First Noel) is one of my favorite Christmas hymns, and they sang one of my favorite arrangements of it. This is just an all-around good start to the Christmas season. (Click on the title for the link to the devotional).
